WHOLESALE HANDBAG : Brita Pitcher Filters(Six replacement water filters) Warehouse: $25.25 Supermarket: $39.98Why We Buy in Bulk: You should change the filter every 40 gallons, but if youdon't have a replacement on hand, it's easy to procrastinate and forfeit thebenefits. But if you want to talk tying up money, look at it this way. Due toinflation the value of your inventory is going up all the time. Soif you buy a year's worth of toilet paper and the price of TP goesup during that year, you're still using TP at the old price, thereforesaving that money. Plus, you save the fuel and time of making repeatedtrips to the store to buy TP since it only took one trip to buy theyear's worth, that's savings right there, including wear and tear onyour car. So, in the long run it saves money and time, as long as there is inflation.I find the prices at warehouse stores to be about the same as coupon and/or sale prices at supermarkets, the big difference being that the supermarket products comes in smaller, more convenient and easier to store packages. Since I go to the supermarket at least twice a week for perishables like milk and fruit, no special trip is needed. On the other hand, a trip to a warehouse is a special trip, consuming time and energy not needed otherwise. The cost of the trips plus the cost of membership makes warehouse stores too expensive for me.Toilet paper is a good example. Not a month goes by without it being on sale at my local supermarket. Stocking up is not a problem. In fact, I still haven't quite used up all my Y2K supply of TP, all bought at sale prices at my local supermarket during 1999 with no special trip needed. Don't even ask about paper towels. I'm set for life.
WHOLESALE HANDBAG : "How can humans take something like shopping, something pure and natural and good, and turn it into something so ugly." Sally SolomonI'll bet if you washed those bags as you used them, you'd have one box foryears. The plain scotch-brite (or clone) sheets without sponges work betteranyhow, and last longer before getting cruddy. Smart&Final has hugecircles of 1" thick scotchbrite in various strengths -- they're forpower floor-polishers. I'm still trying to figure out whether it wouldpay to buy one and cut it up. It just seems like such a cool thing tohave...You must have missed the post about making attractive Christmas angeldecorations from [unused] tampax. They're not just for women any more!Actually I was referring to the pots...if you soak the pots, the crud comesoff easily without NEED for a sponge or scrubber. I don't know why I feltthe NEED to clarify this, perhaps it is the 3rd cup of coffee I justhad...oh well, time for some more, I feel a headache coming on. WHOLESALE HANDBAG : So does anyone really know anything here or do you all just wait for peopleto post some bogus advertisement and jump all over them like you knowsomething but offer little or no information to those who ask? =)I am not entirely sure what you are asking here. Are you asking where tofind an XBOX for $49.99? I would say your local dumpster for broken ones. You will not find NEW XBOXes for that cheap. I doubt you can even find usedones for under $100. If you plan on dealing in big name things like XBOX orPS2 you are in for a terrible surprise.I have heard of people ordering in bulk of 1000 units and still only gettinglike $30 less than retail per system. So if you have $200 x 1000 =$200,000 to spend on a pallet of 1000 units then sure you could make awhopping $30 per sale. Same goes for Dewalt tools and Makita. Even in bulkyou only get them for around $15 less than retail. If you want any moreinfo on wholesale tools I can get some no name brand that are quality ofDewalt and so on for around $40 each! WHOLESALE HANDBAG : Now if your a middleman, jobber, importer, broker, or ( gaaaasssssp )a wholesaler.... making 30 bucks each on 1,000 is decent coin. And if your Wal Mart buying a thousand pallets and making 30 eachwell folks....... you do the math ( thats $30 times 1,000 times 1,000 )But if your a small business person buying a dozen at a time andselling only a few dozen per month or a couple of hundred a monthduring the XMAS season..... well that 30 dollar profit EACH will helppay the "overhead", but if you want to turn a profit and put meatand potatoes on your family table you had better be selling anawfull lot of other profitable products at the same time, or your going to be going down the toilet... glug, glug, glug. For over two years the top selling camera in the world retailedfor about 300 dollars...... To stay competitive with the largechains I had to match their price which meant I sold themat a loss of about 15 each and the best profit I ever madeon them was about 30. You have to sell a piss pot full ofcameras at 30 bucks each to pay even one staff memberlet alone things like rent, utilities, depreciation, etc. WHOLESALE HANDBAG : In one year alone I sold over one hundred of thesefine cameras at a loss of 15 each....
