I remember you posted how you wanted your LV graffitito "age" too after you purchased it. Have you used it recently or are youstill letting that one "age" too. I saw someone in LA last weekend carryingthe graffiti, but I'm not sure if it was real or not. It's aging. I only carried it for about a month. I'd rather carry them when they're not "the latest rage". I know it's a weird concept but they seem more fun when they're sort of unfashionable or considered vintage. I think of them as art or collectibles more than I consider them handbags.BTW, I'm still voting for the brown cherry blossom bag! There's something a little too cute, IMO, about the pink ones.fig
MURAKAMI HANDBAGS : I LOVE my pink on pink pochette!! Honestly, I wouldn't have spent themoney on this if I thought I'd only use it for a season or two. Fortunately, here in FL, we're not as prone to the fashion seasonchanges (I'm not anyway), and I won't stop carrying it in winter justbecause it's pink. I bought it because it's a style that IS me andI'll carry it whether it's "in" or not. As Leilani mentions above, Ijustified the extra money also because the pink canvas is sodifferent. I figure someday it will be too young and cute for me(even though I'm 33, that day is still far, far away) and then I'llgive it to one of my nieces. I will carry this for years to comebecause it matches me and my personal taste/style. If you feel thatway about it then I'd say don't hesitate!p.s. I carried it a few times this weekend and must have gotten acomment on it (that's SO cute, I love your purses, etc) from everywoman I came in contact with. It was almost comical.I buy the real deal except for the Bueno Toteable purchased last yearthat I've since donated to a thrift store. I carry the real Luludaily and use last year's Fiores, which IMO are prettier than some ofthe current ones, as often as possible. My Guccis and Vuittons arestill classics. Last night I carried a macrame and bead small bagthat I used when I was married almost thirty years ago, and mydaughter often carries a Coach shoulderbag from 1960 that we purchasedfrom Joel. I have my mother's brown cloth handbag from the 40s aswell as two small beaded clutches my dad gave me in the 60s. Lastweekend when we were out of town I noticed a beautiful young womanwith a Mombasa wearing a pashmina as a coverup for her thin strappedtop. Unlike other items I think handbags can be timeless.Audrey MURAKAMI HANDBAGS : The following publication contains material which might be objectionable to some readers. Sanney, for making this MUCH easier than before and keeping some of us informed while Our Chaffing Editor was out B. Ryan, for bringing back the Coming Soon section of Hong Kong Movie Database. Looking forward to hearing about your trip in the Potato Section!(1/7/1999) [THANKS SANNEY] With his first Hollywood film RUSH HOUR becoming one of Hollywood's top ten box office successes of 98, Jackie Chan's star is on the rise. Among the numerous offers from Hollywood producers, Jackie Chan finally chose to work with Rush's producer Roger Birnbaum. Roger Birnbaum has formed his own production company, Spy Glass, and its first production will be the Jackie Chan produced and starred SHANGHAI NOON (SEUNG HOI JING NG) which will begin production in America in March. Roger Birnbaum and SHANGHAI's director Tom Dey have come to Hong Kong to meet with Jackie Chan and to cast since 1/3 of the cast will be Chinese. On the 6th both Michael Tong Man Lung and Michael Fitzgerald Wong Man Tak came for auditions. Roger said as Hong Kong's tourism ambassador, Jackie Chan has always tried his best to convince them to come to make the movie in Hong Kong; thus SHANGHAI's opening will be shot in Hong Kong. Also the sequel to RUSH plans to produce 1/3 of the film in Hong Kong. The soon to begin production SHANGHAI will shoot on location in Beijing. Jackie suggested that Forbidden City to be one of the locations because there will be spin-off benefits such as upgrading the skill of local Beijing film crews.. "I only hope to bring more people to make movies in Hong Kong to provide more employment opportunities." On the 8th Roger and Tom headed to Beijing to check out locations in Beijing. According to Roger, SHANGHAI will be Jackie Chan's highest paid role ever. "If the film is a big success, Jackie Chan will receive a big bonus." As for production cost, Roger only revealed that the film will be more expensive than RUSH HOUR. SHANGHAI is actually Jackie Chan's SAI WIK HUNG SI (WEST TERRITORY HEROIC LION). Jackie himself has provided the script. The story takes place during the Qin Dynasty and Jackie will be play a bodyguard of the princess, the most prominent role for Hong Kong MURAKAMI HANDBAGS : While waiting for a mask to dry, I found some cheerful white Vuitton handbag knockoffs at this site via a google search: . Their eyeball knockoffs don't have any eyeballs, maybe because that'd be a little too close to Murakami's* interest in the eyeball motif, but they do have the cherry blossom knockoff Marc Jacobs was carrying in Feb 03's Harper's Bazaar (p. 73), which, imo, looks closer to the real deal than this site's versions of the cheerful bags do.BTW, in that same pic, a woman is shown with the cheerful bag but in a navy background instead of white. Much more practical, but not as cheerful as the white background, imo.I have no ties to this site and cannot vouch for it either, but I'm posting the link in response to many who were interested in at least looking at a knockoff. Personally, this knockoff would have to be something I'd have to see for myself before spending any money.*Murakami is the Japanese artist who's collaborating with Jacobs on this line MURAKAMI HANDBAGS : -- Poetic Badgers"You can’t beat a Babka." (Elaine Benes at the bakery)While I'm thankful for the link, that still seems like a lot for sucha trendy item. I know what the prices are for the real ones, butstill. For me to spend, it would have to be under $100.I feel the same way. For that amount of money for a *fake,* I'd ratherhave a real something. $250 can buy a lot of name-brand handbag atMarshall's or the like. MJ$250 can buy a really cute LuLu Guiness bag or a small authenticdesigner handbag.AudreyI agree that it was a lot of money. I'd think those cheerful bags will be knocked off in a couple of months for less than what they were on that site.OMG, I want one of the cherry blossom LV's SO badly. I would spend$200 on a good knockoff, but I worry about the bags from this site -the Gucci's look TERRIBLE, not even close to being a real knockoff(isn't that an oxymoron?). If anyone has ordered from here or knowsof another place to get the cherry blossoms, please let me know.
