MAXX NEW YORK HANDBAGS : I also got a really cute purple wristlet that I got a Target a couple of weeks ago. I'm just waiting to use it with the really cute outfit I'm planning on wearing soon, just waiting for the right time.Not really. Most of my handbag dollars go into classic fall/winter styles because those seasons take up a lot of months here and I don't want to be buying a new one every season b/c I'm cheap like that. My dressy summer bags are mostly leather and in neutral colors and classic styles, again so I don't have to spend too much on them every season. I love that cheerful LV bag, but wouldn't dream of buying a real one and probably won't even look for a knockoff, unless I spot one with a navy background that looks good for around $50. Yes, for a fun straw totebag that sounds exactly like what you selected. Thanx for the Target tip. I'll probably be able to head over there in a couple of days.
MAXX NEW YORK HANDBAGS : I bought two MAXX New York poly 'straw' tote bags from the QVC store (I looked up the item number, A19348) for around $25 each last summer (one black trim and one reddish-brown trim) when they had a try me special running for that brand. They worked great for me for work and they don't look ratted out so I'll probably use them again this summer. Love the color, but the price for nylon microfiber?? Not for me. Same thing with the Lulus and Fiores. I *love* the look, but they seem overpriced for the materials they're made of and for the number of times I'd be able to use them. I'd probably select a knockoff of a nylon bag or of something kitschy, with a price cap of $50, but that's just me. :)On the Nordies site, the straw Fossil mini totes w/ a bamboo handle in lime and robin's egg blue at under $30 are very cute, but cripes, there's no need to spend $250 on that Kate Spade poppy tote. Most straw and rattan and raffia totes you can pick up at Target or Wal-mart could be decorated with some silk flowers and a glue gun (or half covered in embroidered fabric) and have the linings switched to a bright color or print with a little fabric and a needle and thread. I even think a reasonable knock off of the Lulu Rainy Day tote could be made from one of the Maxx totes I bought last year if there's a craft product out there that'd stick some Paper Doll cutouts to the poly straw.
MAXX NEW YORK HANDBAGS : Over the past year I have been collecting a variety of small bags that Ilike to use when I go out - I have all different shapes, sizes, and styles,including satin, beaded, knit, fake fur, and cotton. I'm curious if anyoneelse likes to have a variety of these type of bags (I call them my "funpurses") that are for the most part impractical for anything but going out.Fendi's baguettes were of course big items, but with their price point, itwould be hard to imagine having tons of them. The Jan 10, 2000 issue of NewYork magazine just did an article "Beyond the Baguette" which discussed anew crop of fun purses. Any thoughts on these types of purses?Likes/dislikes? Anyone else like to collect these? Ok - I admit it - Ihave more purses than shoes!
